I am pretty pleased with all that this book has to offer. I recently finished schooling at Full Sail University for my bachelor's in audio production, which has led me to the wonderful world of audio. Having prior experience with Logic Pro made following along with each chapter's example work fun and engaging. Professor Chris Piorkowski did a fantastic job explaining each section in enough detail so that the reader was not completely overwhelmed and could easily follow along.
The key to success is reputation. Getting out there and exposing yourself to the elements, and in this case, the features are how to sync your music or sounds to movies or television perfectly. Staying up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques within any DAW will help you run a smoother session and keep your clients happy. I believe you can do just that within the parameters of this book. From learning how to setup your session to fully syncing your music to commercials this book has it all from start to finish.
In conclusion, if you are looking to up your game in the audio world and are interested in scoring to picture with little effort, this book is a must-have. The step-by-step examples are easy to follow. The information and techniques that Chris provides all derive from today's leading standards for any project within the industry. Don't get left behind or miss out on a great investment towards your future career. Stay relevant everybody.

This book addresses a specific gap in the field of DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) scoring for film. Unlike most books that predominantly cover a more generalized approach to DAW-based scoring, this book stands out by focusing exclusively on Logic Pro. The advantage of this narrow focus is that readers gain a comprehensive understanding of Logic Pro's application in the context of film scoring. Author Piorkowski provides an abundance of techniques and subjects that hold relevance for contemporary film and media composers. These include essential topics such as movie setup, beat mapping, and tempo mapping, all of which offer significant value to both novice and experienced Logic Pro users.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone eager to delve into the intricacies of Logic Pro, particularly as they pertain to the specific nuances of scoring for film.

As someone who is relatively entry level when it comes to scoring for film, this book has been a huge help! Most of my experience comes from engineering with Pro Tools or making beats with Logic. This book has shown me many tips and insight to terms and techniques I can use in the future! It is very easy to understand and has many helpful screenshots and diagrams, I highly recommend this book!

This book covers a wide range of topics and dives deep into each, offering a thorough examination of film scoring terminologies and practices crucial to scoring to picture and working professionally with Logic Pro.

Piorkowski offers tons of in depth information for Apple and logic users, including timecodes, beat mapping, and project planning/organization. I recommend for anyone looking to get a practical film scoring text to prepare for working with clients. This book will give the reader a headstart on understanding how to approach communication with non-musical clients in settings like spotting sessions.

In addition to technical methods, Piorkowski also takes the reader through scoring a commercial from scratch, explaining situations where technical choices and musical choices differ when choosing mood and style. Not only do I recommend this book to composers of any linear medium looking for an in-depth primer to get started working with clients, techniques and workflows covered in this book easily translate into other professional spheres like game audio and sound design.
